Tabu's stunning presence in HBO epic 'Dune: Prophecy' teaser!

New Delhi: Bollywood star Tabu grabs the stage in HBO Max's latest teaser for ‘Dune: Prophecy’, a prequel series to the acclaimed ‘Dune’ films by Denis Villeneuve. Released on Thursday evening, the teaser offers fans their first look at Tabu in the role of Sister Francesca.

Known internationally for her roles in films like "The Namesake" and "Life of Pi", as well as the BBC series "A Suitable Boy", Tabu makes a brief yet striking appearance towards the end of the teaser. Her character, Sister Francesca, is described as a strong, intelligent, and captivating figure, hinting at an impactful role in the series.

"Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital,” the makers said.

Set to premiere in November this year, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit sect, crucial in Frank Herbert's iconic universe. Based on the novel ‘Sisterhood of Dune’ by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson, the series delves into the early struggles and ambitions of its characters, including Tabu's Sister Francesca.

Alongside Tabu, the series features a talented ensemble including Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Jessica Barden, and Shalom Brune-Franklin. It is helmed by showrunner Alison Schapker and co-developer Diane Ademu-John, in a collaboration between HBO and Legendary Television.

Tabu's involvement in "Dune: Prophecy" adds to the anticipation surrounding the series, promising an intriguing exploration of character and story in the expansive Dune universe.
