After the blockbuster success of "Marco", Cubes Entertainment has announced its next production, "Kattalan", starring Antony Varghese Pepe in the lead role. Produced by Shareef Muhammed and directed by debutant Paul George, the film has made headlines by welcoming Shibin S Raghav, the Thrissur native who became a social media sensation with his silent yet unforgettable appearance in "Lokah–Chapter One: Chandra".

The announcement was made through the official Instagram page of "Kattalan", accompanied by a poster inviting Shibin into the film's universe. Known for making audiences roar with laughter without uttering a single line, Shibin's unnamed character in "Lokah", who appeared in just one scene set in actor Naslen's character's flat, became an instant fan-favourite. During the success celebrations of "Lokah" in Hyderabad, even Telugu filmmaker Nag Ashwin enquired with Lokah director Dominic Arun about this character and whether a spinoff was planned.

Following the viral success of "Lokah", Shibin is now all set to surprise audiences once again with "Kattalan".

"Kattalan" recently held its pooja ceremony. The event was attended by director B. Unnikrishnan, Siddique, Jagadish, Bollywood actor Kabir Duhan Singh, I M Vijayan, Antony Varghese Pepe, director Haneef Adeni, Rajisha Vijayan, Hanan Shaah, Baby Jean, Sharafudheen, director Jithin Lal, Anson Paul, Sagar Surya, Shon Joy, editor Shameer Muhammed, among several other stars and technicians.

In "Kattalan", Antony Varghese Pepe, who plays the title role appears under his real name 'Antony Varghese'. Rajisha Vijayan plays the female lead. The film also features an ensemble cast that brings together Malayalam stars and pan-Indian names, including Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Raj Tirandasu, Shon Joy, rapper Baby Jean, Hanan Shaah, and Kill movie fame Parth Tiwari. Posters welcoming these artists to the project were released earlier which garnered much attention.

The action is choreographed by stunt director Kecha Khamphakdee, known for Ong-Bak 2, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Jawan, Baaghi 2, and Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1.

Music is composed by acclaimed Kannada music director B Ajaneesh Loknath, who is working on the film after Kantara Chapter 2. The script is by Paul George and Unni R. Cinematography is handled by Renadive, while editing is by Shameer Muhammed.
