Mumbai: Actor-producer Mukesh Khanna has provided an update on the reboot of his iconic television show 'Shaktimaan,' which is being adapted into a feature-length film. Speaking with IANS, Khanna revealed that while the film is ready to engage audiences, it has encountered some unspecified roadblocks. Despite this, he assured fans that the movie will eventually be released in theatres, emphasising its importance.

In a separate conversation, Khanna addressed the controversy stirred by actress Urvashi, who criticised the National Awards for awarding the Best Actor title to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Urvashi, who won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Ullozhukku,' questioned the fairness of the jury and the criteria behind honouring Khan.

Khanna responded by highlighting the political nature of claims suggesting the award should have gone to a South Indian actor. He compared it to A. R. Rahman winning an Oscar for 'Jai Ho' rather than for his previous impactful songs. Khanna noted Shah Rukh Khan's four decades of dedication to cinema and questioned what was wrong with him finally receiving national recognition.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan expressed gratitude for his National Award for Atlee's directorial, sharing a heartfelt video acknowledging the sacrifice of his family due to his obsession with cinema. He described the award not just as an achievement but as a motivation to continue creating and serving the film industry amid the world's noise.
