Fraud case against Shan Rahman and wife; Settlement talks underway

Kochi: Efforts are reportedly underway to settle the ongoing fraud case against renowned music director Shaan Rahman and his wife, with the intervention of friends close to the couple. According to reports, these friends have approached the complainant in the case to discuss a potential settlement.
The fraud case stems from an alleged breach of contract in connection with a live concert organised in Kochi on January 25. Niju Raj Abraham, a show director from Kollam, filed a complaint stating that Shaan Rahman had failed to pay him as agreed upon for organising the event.
According to the complaint, Rahman had promised to pay the amount after receiving funds from the online ticket booking website. However, despite receiving over Rs 38 lakh from ticket sales, the complainant claims that the money was never paid.
Following the complaint, the police registered FIR against Shaan Rahman and his wife. In response to the charges, Rahman had sought anticipatory bail, which was granted by the court under the condition that he would appear before the investigating officer. However, Rahman has yet to comply with this condition.
While the legal proceedings continue, efforts to settle the matter through mediation by Rahman’s friends have emerged. The complainant has shown interest in resolving the issue, expressing that the case could be settled if the full payment is made.
