Washington: Selena Gomez and her fiancé, Benny Blanco, have decided to put their wedding plans on hold in order to focus on their forthcoming album, I Said I Love You First, which is set for release on March 21.

In a recent interview with E! News, Blanco shared that Gomez is continually coming up with new ideas for their wedding, saying, "I think every day she's planned a new wedding in her head." However, the couple has chosen to prioritise their music collaboration over wedding preparations for the time being.

Gomez described the process of working on the album together as a "special time," noting that it has been a unique opportunity to channel their love into their music. "I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world," she explained.

Blanco, 37, emphasised that they are taking their engagement one step at a time and are in no rush to plan their wedding. "We're very much 'take it one day at a time'-type of people. We're still not over this moment," he said.

The couple's engagement was revealed in December after Blanco proposed to Gomez during a romantic Taco Bell picnic. Since then, they have been working on their album in their in-home recording studio, which Gomez described as "the most intimate" recording experience she has ever had.

The album, I Said I Love You First, is a deeply personal and intimate project that blends their stories and experiences. As Gomez put it, "This whole project embodies his stories combined with my stories. They have meanings that are really just personal to both of us."
