The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to actor Koottickal Jayachandran in connection with a child molestation case. The actor had been accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

The case against Jayachandran is based on a complaint that he sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl. The complaint, filed by the child's mother, led to the case being registered by the Kasaba police. The allegation is that Jayachandran exploited family conflicts to sexually abuse the child.

The Supreme Court has earlier granted temporary relief to actor Koottikal Jayachandran emphasising that the actor must fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the matter. The court had then also issued a notice to the Kerala government, seeking response to Jayachandran's plea for anticipatory bail.
