'Shame on you': Sara Gurpal reveals receiving rape, death threats after 'Rise and Fall 2' eviction

Punjabi actress and singer Sara Gurpal, who rose to wider recognition through 'Bigg Boss 14', has spoken out against online harassment, revealing that she and her family have been subjected to rape and death threats following her elimination from the reality show 'Rise and Fall 2'. 

Taking to Instagram Stories, Sara expressed her disappointment over the abusive messages and derogatory remarks directed at her since leaving the show. Condemning the behaviour, the actress made it clear that disagreements over her actions or opinions on the reality programme did not justify personal attacks or threats.

"It's been a while since I addressed you all. Rise and Fall 2 was a one-of-a-kind experience, but what I am experiencing after coming out of the show, especially on social media, is bizarre and disgusting. You can agree or disagree with my opinions, but sending death and rape threats to me and my family and making vulgar comments about my body is absolutely shameful.”

Sara also warned that those responsible for the threats would face legal consequences.

“Har kisi ki apni opinion ho sakti hai (Everyone can have an opinion), but that doesn't give you the right to threaten or abuse anyone. Such spineless trolls must be held accountable, and strict legal action will be taken against them. Shame on you.”

Sara Gurpal's heated confrontation with Gautam Gulati

Sara's participation in 'Rise and Fall 2' was marked by several disagreements with fellow contestants, including Priyanka Chahar and Gautam Gulati. One of the most talked-about incidents involved a confrontation with Gautam that escalated into a heated argument.

The disagreement began when Gautam accidentally hit a bench with his leg, startling Sara. Although he maintained that he had not intended to initiate a 'takhta palat', or an attempt to overturn the existing power structure, his actions left her visibly upset.

Reacting angrily, Sara climbed onto the dining table and began kicking objects, causing a disturbance in the basement and surprising the other contestants.

As tensions rose, she confronted Gautam, saying, “You cannot do this to scare me.”

Sara later explained that her reaction had been triggered by memories of an abusive relationship she had experienced in the past. Describing how she felt during the confrontation, she said, “I thought he was the one saying it like that, trying to scare me… I got scared.”

The incident became one of the notable confrontations during her time on the reality show.
