Dhurandhar actress Sara Arjun finds her 'second home' in Kerala while honing her acting skills

Thrissur: Audiences were captivated by Sara Arjun's emotionally layered performance in Dhurandhar, where she slipped effortlessly into the roles of a young woman caught between love and conflict and, later, a mother navigating the emotional turmoil created by hostility between two nations. The actor, known for conveying powerful emotions through her expressive eyes, is now back in Kerala, this time at Navarasa Sadhana in Irinjalakuda, continuing her pursuit of the finer nuances of acting.
Sara has returned to Natanakairali, where celebrated Koodiyattam exponent Guru Venu G conducts his acclaimed acting programme. This is the Bollywood actor's third visit to the training camp.
The young actor, who is also familiar to Malayalam audiences through Annmariya Kalippilaanu, recently drew praise for her performance in Dhurandhar. In the film, she first appeared as the love interest of Ranveer Singh's character before portraying a young mother caught in the emotional crossfire between rival nations in the latter part of the story.
At the training sessions, Sara blends in with fellow students like the girl next door, sitting alongside them and learning under Guru Venu with the enthusiasm of any other student.
It was during the shooting of Dhurandhar that Sara first heard about Navarasa Sadhana. Her father, actor Raj Arjun, introduced her to the programme, telling her how actors and dancers train there to refine their expressive abilities and master the finer details. What began as curiosity soon turned into admiration. The atmosphere, the training space and her guru have made such an impression that Sara now describes Irinjalakuda as "a second home", a place she always looks forward to returning to.
Speaking about her experience, Sara said, "I've learnt how to use my eyes more effectively and how to trigger emotional memories whenever a scene demands it. There are so many subtle aspects of performance that I have been able to understand here. I believe a person's eyes are the windows to their soul. Whatever exists within us naturally finds expression through our eyes."
She added that every session with Guru Venu expands her understanding of what acting is capable of achieving.
"Guru Venu keeps showing me how much more an actor can do. I feel fortunate to have found a teacher like him."
Sara also spoke about her fondness for Kerala, saying she always enjoys being in the state and especially cherishes every opportunity to spend time in Irinjalakuda.
