Salim Khan health update: Stable after DSA, under ICU observation at Lilavati Hospital

# News Desk

Mumbai: Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan, is currently stable following a medical procedure at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai. The 90-year-old was admitted on February 17 and underwent a Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), after which he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit for monitoring.

According to medical sources, his condition has shown improvement. Doctors are closely observing him, and ventilator support may be withdrawn if stability continues. The hospital has stated that no further medical bulletins will be issued at this time, respecting the family’s wishes.

Family by his side

Family members, including Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Aayush Sharma, were seen at the hospital. Salman Khan has reportedly put his professional commitments on hold to remain with his father during the hospitalisation.

Several film industry colleagues, including Riteish Deshmukh and Subhash Ghai, also visited the hospital to extend their support.

A defining figure in Hindi cinema

Salim Khan is widely regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s most influential screenwriters. As part of the celebrated duo Salim–Javed with Javed Akhtar, he co-wrote several landmark films that shaped mainstream Bollywood storytelling in the 1970s and 1980s.

Some of their most notable works include Sholay, Deewaar, Zanjeer and Don. These films played a significant role in defining the “Angry Young Man” persona on screen and transformed the narrative structure of commercial Hindi cinema.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital continue to monitor Salim Khan’s condition. Further updates are awaited.
