Is Salaar 2 delayed? Makers’ latest move has fans buzzing

Just when fans began fearing the worst about Salaar: Part 2, the makers stepped in with a single Instagram post and instantly flipped the narrative. Amid growing rumours that Prabhas’ much-awaited sequel had been stalled, the team behind the blockbuster franchise has now made it clear: Salaar 2 is very much on track.
Speculation about the sequel being delayed had gained momentum after reports claimed the film’s future depended on the box office performance of The Raja Saab. Some industry buzz even suggested that director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas were planning to completely overhaul the project to suit changing audience tastes. The rumours left fans anxious, with many wondering if the sequel would face long delays, or worse, be shelved altogether.
The makers chose a subtle yet powerful way to shut down the speculation. On Shruti Haasan’s birthday, the official Salaar team shared a candid photo of Shruti and Prabhas smiling while looking at a phone. The caption read, “Aadya showing Deva what happens to her in #Salaar2!! What do you think it is?”
That one line was enough to send fans into a frenzy. Social media was flooded with reactions, with many celebrating the post as the strongest confirmation yet that Salaar 2 is happening and moving forward as planned.
What’s Next for Prabhas?
While The Raja Saab failed to make a strong impact at the box office, Prabhas’ lineup remains packed with high-profile projects. Most notably, the actor recently announced that his next major film, Spirit, directed by Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will hit theatres worldwide on March 5, 2027.
Meanwhile, Salaar 2 continues to be one of the most anticipated sequels, especially after the massive response to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.
