‘Respect privacy and exercise self-restraint’: Manju Warrier slams public insensitivity

Kochi: Actor Manju Warrier has criticised the rise in socially inappropriate behaviour in public spaces. She highlighted instances of untoward conduct during the funeral services of actors Salim Kumar and Bhagyaraj to make her point. Manju was speaking at an award ceremony organised by MP Hibi Eden to felicitate high-achieving students.
"We must be aware of where we stand, the nature of the occasion, and the self-restraint we need to exercise,” Manju said.
“In foreign countries, people photograph others only after seeking permission. There must be an awareness that everyone's privacy deserves to be respected," Manju added.
She also urged students to make a conscious decision to practice civic sense in their daily lives.
