Sexual allegations against actors: Court finds discrepancies in statement given by Aluva actress

Kochi: Reports have emerged that investigating officials have found several discrepancies in the statements given by the actress from Aluva, who has accused several prominent Malayalam actors of sexual assault.
The information was revealed in an order issued by the Ernakulam Sessions Court, which granted anticipatory bail to V.S. Chandrasekharan, the former state committee president of the Indian Lawyers Congress. The lawyer had also sought bail in this case.
The court noted that there are inconsistencies in the victim's statements regarding the dates and places of the alleged assaults. The actress had lodged a complaint against seven individuals, including actor-turned-politician MLA Mukesh. It appears that she has provided differing accounts to a doctor, which contradict some points in her formal complaint.
In the light of these observations, the advocate was granted bail. MLA Mukesh has also been granted anticipatory bail in connection with the same case.
Actor Jayasurya has approached the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail concerning the allegations made by the actress. The actress has accused veteran actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju of misbehaviour.
