'Register FIR against Lakshmipriya and female SI': Ansiba moves court

Kochi: Amidst ongoing controversies within the actors' association, AMMA, actress Ansiba Hassan has approached the court. In her petition, Ansiba has requested that a First Information Report (FIR) be registered against actress Lakshmipriya and a female Sub-Inspector (SI) from Thrippunithura. The petition was filed before the Thrippunithura Magistrate Court.
The disputes and issues between the female members of the actors' association have now escalated into a legal battle. Previously, Ansiba had filed a complaint with the Chief Minister and other authorities against Lakshmipriya, SI Reshma of the Thrippunithura Women's Police Station, and Lakshmipriya's husband. Following an investigation based on that complaint, the police submitted a report stating that the allegations lacked merit. Subsequently, last Thursday, Ansiba submitted a similar complaint directly to the police once again. She has now approached the Thrippunithura Magistrate Court, demanding that an FIR be registered based on this complaint.
In court, Ansiba alleged that the police were refusing to register an FIR due to political influence. Accepting the petition, the court has directed the police to submit a report on the matter. The court will dispose of the petition based on this upcoming report. These legal developments coincide with the general body meeting of AMMA, which is scheduled to take place in the coming days.
The crisis within 'AMMA'
The controversies became public after Ansiba Hassan, the former Joint Secretary, resigned from her position. Factions have emerged among the actors following allegations that certain members are not conducting themselves properly, thereby tarnishing the association's image. These issues have created a major crisis ahead of the upcoming general body meeting.
Ansiba's primary grievance is against actor Tini Tom, whom she accuses of calling her a 'jihadi' and personally defaming her by spreading rumours of an illicit relationship. In addition, her disputes with actress Lakshmipriya have triggered intense discussions within the association. Retaliating against these allegations, Lakshmipriya announced that she would file a 10-crore rupee defamation lawsuit against Ansiba.
The leadership of AMMA has issued show-cause notices to Ansiba Hassan, Tini Tom, Lakshmipriya and Joy Mathew for making public statements that damage the association's reputation. They have been directed to submit a written explanation by June 17. However, Ansiba responded to the association by demanding clarification on which specific rule she had violated. The actress maintains that she wants to know exactly which clause under Article 5 of the bylaws she is accused of breaching.
Ansiba Hassan remains firm in her stance and refuses to back down from her complaints. The actress remarked that those leading the association must possess organizational skills, compassion and a willingness to listen to its members. She also alleged that a leadership that fails to stand by justice will only breed anarchy.
