Actors Rashmika Mandanna, 29, and Vijay Deverakonda, 36, are set to marry on 26 February in Udaipur, where they will mark their union through two culturally distinct wedding ceremonies. The couple, who recently confirmed their plans publicly, will host an intimate celebration attended only by close relatives and a small circle of friends.

According to reports, the pair will honour their respective Kodava and Telugu backgrounds through separate rituals on the same day – a decision that reflects their intent to give equal space to both family traditions. Their wedding festivities, already underway in Rajasthan, are being held under the fan-coined title, the “Wedding of Virosh.”

Two ceremonies, two cultures

The morning ceremony on 26 February will follow traditional Telugu Hindu customs, acknowledging Deverakonda’s heritage. Family members are expected to participate in the customary rituals considered significant to the groom’s community.

Later that evening, a Kodava ceremony will be held in celebration of Mandanna’s roots. This event will incorporate cultural elements specific to Kodava traditions, ensuring that both families see their heritage represented.

The wedding remains tightly restricted, with invitations extended only to immediate family and selected close friends. Among those already in Udaipur are director Tharun Bhascker, actor Eesha Rebba, director-actor Rahul Ravindran and stylist Shravya Varma. Reports also indicate that filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been invited.

Pre-wedding festivities begin with cricket

The celebrations began on a lively note as both families took part in a cricket match, described as an unconventional yet joyful start to the wedding week. More pre-wedding traditions are underway, leading up to the mehndi and sangeet ceremonies scheduled for Wednesday.

A sangeet event reportedly took place at the ITC Mementos, where a touching moment was witnessed. According to India Today, Deverakonda’s mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, presented heirloom bangles to Mandanna as part of traditional customs.

Ahead of the marriage celebrations, the couple formally acknowledged their relationship, sharing a sentimental message expressing gratitude to fans who supported them over the years. They noted how admirers had given them the nickname “Virosh,” even before they publicly confirmed their relationship.

Reception planned in Hyderabad

Following the private ceremonies in Udaipur, the newlyweds will host a larger reception on 4 March at the Taj Krishna. The event is expected to draw colleagues from the Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi film industries.

About the couple

Mandanna and Deverakonda first appeared together in the hit 2018 film Geetha Govindam, becoming a fan-favourite pair. They reunited the following year in Dear Comrade and will next share the screen in Rahul Sankrityan’s Ranabali.

Mandanna was most recently seen in Thamma alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, released in November 2025. She is also set to appear in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, which is expected in cinemas this September.

Deverakonda’s latest release, Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and co-starring Bhagyashri Borse, drew mixed reactions. Along with Ranabali, he is working on Rowdy Janardhana, slated for release in December.
