Ranbir Kapoor- Sai Pallavi led ‘Ramayana’ Parts 1 and 2: Release dates announced

Mumbai: Release dates for Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi led Ramayana has been set. The two-part epic will hit theatres on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, with the first poster and details about the cast now revealed.

The first look of the film, shared by Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios, features a glowing magical arrow surrounded by a golden aura. The poster’s title, 'Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana,' and the release date are also prominently displayed.

In a statement, Namit shared, “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our “RAMAYANA”– for people across the world. Join us as we fulfill our dream of bringing our greatest epic to life with pride and reverence… Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.”

An epic tale in two parts

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for his work on Dangal, the film will be released in two parts. The first part will arrive in 2026, followed by the second part in 2027. The film is set to bring to life the legendary tale of the Ramayana with a star-studded cast. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ramayana will also feature Yash as Raavan, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.

Earlier this year, a leaked photo from the film's set went viral, showing Ranbir and Sai Pallavi in full costume. Fans eagerly shared their excitement about the pair’s transformation into Ram and Sita.

Namit Malhotra, the producer behind Ramayana, has worked on major international films such as Dune and Inception. He is also involved in the upcoming Angry Birds 3 and The Garfield Movie, showcasing his strong credentials in the global film industry.
