75th birthday celebrations: Fans lead the tribute
Fans have already begun marking the milestone in India and abroad. In Thoothukudi, fans cut 75-kg cake to celebrate the 75th birthday of their superstar. State Minister Geetha Jeevan also participated in the celebrations.
In Thirumangalam, Madurai, a 1.5-foot tall, three-kilo ice-cream cake in his likeness was unveiled, and his statue was ceremonially crowned and anointed with milk and sandalwood paste. Posters celebrating him in 75 languages reflect the global admiration he commands.
To mark 50 years in cinema, his blockbuster Padayappa was re-released 25 years after its original debut, delighting fans and highlighting the enduring magic of his films.
