Iconic duo's comeback nears: Filming for Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan project to kick off this weekend

Chennai: The promo shoot for director Nelson Dilipkumar’s much-anticipated film featuring Tamil cinema icons Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan together is set to begin on Sunday, according to industry sources.

Sources say the promo, similar in tone to the teaser for 'Jailer 2', will have a humorous treatment and will feature Nelson and music director Anirudh Ravichander in cameo appearances as make-up artists.

Although no official announcement has been made, the project is being referred to in industry circles as '#Thalaivar174 X #KH238', and is said to be firmly on track.

Meanwhile, director Cibi Chakravarthy is preparing to begin work on Rajinikanth’s upcoming film tentatively titled '#Thalaivar173', which is being produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI). Rajinikanth recently confirmed that shooting for the film will begin in April, describing it as a full-fledged commercial entertainer.

The project has generated significant buzz since RKFI announced its involvement. The film was originally to be directed by Sundar C, who later opted out of the project.
