Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other parliamentarians, will attend a special screening of the film The Sabarmati Report in Parliament at 4 PM on Monday (December 2).

The movie, which features Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna in pivotal roles, delves into the tragic Godhra train burning incident of February 27, 2002. This horrifying event, which resulted in the death of 59 people, sparked communal riots across Gujarat that claimed over 1,000 lives, a majority of them being Muslims. Notably, PM Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat during that time.

The Prime Minister had earlier lauded the film for shedding light on the events leading to the Godhra tragedy, stating that "a fake narrative can only persist for a limited period."

Earlier, actor Vikrant Massey, one of the film's lead stars, shared a heartfelt note on Instagram earlier this week, surprising fans with the announcement that he plans to retire from acting in 2025.

His performance in The Sabarmati Report has been widely praised, adding another feather to his cap as he prepares to bid farewell to the silver screen.
