Who is the real hero of Patriot? Mammootty names two, leaves cast amused in viral promo

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Patriot have sparked buzz with a lively promo for their celebrity chat show Patriot: Legends Hangout, where a fun round-table conversation among the cast revolves around one key question: who is the real hero of the film?

Featuring Mammootty, Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil, the promo captures candid and humorous exchanges rather than a single definitive answer. In the midst of the discussion, Mammootty playfully declares that the film has not one but two heroes, naming Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil, leaving the others amused and momentarily confused.

Adding to the light-hearted tone, Mammootty also throws in a cheeky question during the interaction: who is the better actor. The conversation can be seen deviating with Prakash Varma adding to it, whether its Mammootty or Mohanlal, prompting laughter and reactions from the group. Composer Sushin Shyam is also seen sharing in the confusion and fun, alongside the rest of the team.

The chat show, titled Patriot: Legends Hangout, will begin streaming on JioHotstar from April 23, offering fans a glimpse into the camaraderie of the ensemble cast ahead of the film’s release.

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot marks a major on-screen reunion for Mammootty and Mohanlal after 13 years since Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty. The film also stars Nayanthara, Revathy and Rajeev Menon in key roles, with music composed by Sushin Shyam.

Backed by Anto Joseph Film Company and Kichappu Films, Patriot is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
