Deepfake or real? Actress Oviya embroiled in controversy following video leak

A private video allegedly featuring Malayalee and South Indian actress Oviya is reportedly circulating on social media, sparking controversy. The footage, shared across platforms including X, claims to show the actress in a compromising situation. However, neither Oviya nor her team have commented on the matter.

Some users on social media have pointed out that the woman in the video bears a similar tattoo to Oviya's, suggesting it might indeed be her. Conversely, others argue that the video could be a deep fake, raising questions about its authenticity. To date, none of the media outlets covering have verified the claims.

Oviya, whose real name is Helen Nelson, hails from Thrissur and gained prominence through her roles in Tamil cinema and reality shows. She made her film debut in the 2007 Malayalam movie Kangaroo, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. 

She later transitioned to Tamil films. Her rise to fame was after her appearance on Bigg Boss Tamil, where her emotional moments, particularly her connection with fellow contestant actor Arav, charmed audiences. 

An incident during the show saw her jump into the swimming pool when Arav distanced himself, becoming a hot topic among fans. Following this, her early exit before the completion of the show also raised eyebrows.
