Oviya responds to alleged private video leak amid backlash

South Indian actress Oviya is facing a wave of criticism on social media following the circulation of a purported 17-second private video. The footage, shared widely on platforms including X, has sparked a torrent of hate comments.

Oviya took to her comment section to deliver a sharp reply to the trolls. A user commented in Tamil, "A 17-second video has been shared, madam," to which Oviya replied simply, "Enjoy." Another user wrote, the video could have been longer, she responded with, "Next time, bro."

Some users have pointed out that the woman in the video bears a similar tattoo to Oviya's, raising questions about its authenticity. However, others argue that it could be a deepfake, emphasizing the need for verification. Recently there has been a troubling trend of deepfake videos targeting actresses and celebrities. As of now, none of the media outlets covering the story have confirmed the claims.

Oviya rose to fame through her roles in Tamil cinema and reality television. She made her film debut in the 2007 Malayalam movie Kangaroo, starring alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. Her popularity soared after her appearance on Bigg Boss Tamil.
