The heartwarming resonance of C Premkumar’s Meiyazhagan continues to ripple across South India. From enjoying critical success to minting crores globally, the film has also sparked a unique wave of interest in Kerala. Recently, AI-generated images reimagining the Karthi and Arvind Swamy starrer with Malayalam icons Nivin Pauly and Mohanlal went viral, catching the eye of Nivin himself.

Addressing the buzz at the JFW Movie Awards, Nivin Pauly confirmed that he has seen the fan-made concepts and is open to the idea. While the duo previously shared the screen in 2018’s Kayamkulam Kochunni, the audience is now eager to see them in a grounded, "feel-good" drama.

Speaking to JFW regarding a potential collaboration, Nivin revealed that although they have discussed teaming up for a commercial entertainer, they are still searching for the perfect script. He noted that the right writer and director have yet to emerge to steer the project. The actor expressed that they are essentially waiting for all the creative pieces to fit together, adding that he remains optimistic the venture will eventually come to fruition.

Meiyazhagan struck a chord by exploring a middle-aged man's poignant return to his ancestral roots and his bond with a doting cousin. Given both Mohanlal’s and Nivin’s storied history with emotional, character-driven narratives, the prospect of a similar Malayalam production has set expectations soaring across the cinema circles.
