Kochi: Actor Mammootty visited the home of actor Mohanlal in Elamakkara in Kochi to pay his final respects to Mohanlal’s mother, Santhakumari. He was accompanied by actor Ramesh Pisharody, producers Anto Joseph, George, Antony Perumbavoor, and MP Hibi Eden.

Mammootty shared a deep emotional bond with Santhakumari, reflecting years of close friendship with Mohanlal.

In addition to Mammootty, many prominent figures from the Malayalam film industry are arriving at the Elamakkara residence to offer their condolences.

Santhakumari, aged 90, passed away on Tuesday due to age-related illnesses. She had been undergoing treatment for some time and was residing at Mohanlal’s home in Elamakkara, Kochi. Her funeral is scheduled for Wednesday.

Mohanlal, who was very close to his mother, often found time to care for her despite his busy schedule. Shanthakumari was a significant influence on his film career, a fact Mohanlal has spoken about publicly on numerous occasions.

Recently, he described it as a great fortune to be able to share his Dadasaheb Phalke Award with his mother, noting that his first visit after receiving the honour was to her.
