Actor Mamitha Baiju has announced that she is taking a temporary break from social media, informing followers that she will be stepping away from her online platforms for an unspecified period.

The ‘Jana Nayagan’ actor shared the update through her Instagram Stories on Tuesday. While she confirmed her absence from social media, Mamitha did not disclose what prompted the decision or when she plans to return.

“Taking some time off all my socials. In the meantime, my team's got it covered,” she posted on her social media.

The brief message suggests that activity across her social media accounts will continue under the supervision of her team while she remains away.

Active online presence comes to a pause

Mamitha has cultivated a large following on social media over the past few years, regularly posting behind-the-scenes moments from film shoots, promotional campaigns, travel diaries and personal milestones. Her posts have frequently generated strong engagement, particularly as her popularity has grown across the Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu film industries.

Her announcement comes just days after she shared a dance reel featuring the promotional track ‘Pattampoochi’ from ‘Viswanath and Sons’. The video quickly gained traction among fans and added to the anticipation surrounding the film.

Busy slate of upcoming films

Although stepping away from social media, Mamitha's professional calendar remains packed with several high-profile releases.

She is part of ‘Jana Nayagan’, one of Vijay's most anticipated upcoming films, in which she plays a pivotal role.

The actor will also be seen opposite Suriya in ‘Viswanath and Sons’, directed by Venky Atluri. The film, scheduled for release on August 14, marks Atluri's next directorial venture after the success of ‘Lucky Bhaskar’. Music for the film has been composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while the promotional song ‘Pattampoochi’ has already emerged as a favourite among audiences.

Mamitha has also been confirmed as the female lead in Pradeep Ranganathan's upcoming production, reuniting with the actor-filmmaker following ‘Dude’.

In Malayalam cinema, she will star opposite Nivin Pauly in the romantic comedy ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, directed by Girish AD. Her most recent release was ‘Kara’, starring Dhanush.

Team to manage social media accounts

According to reports, Mamitha's social media accounts are currently being handled by celebrity management firm The Route. The company is led by producer Jagadish Palanisamy, who previously served as the manager of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay.

Mamitha is not the only actor to step back from social platforms in recent weeks. Actors Kayadu Lohar and Aishwarya Lekshmi have also announced temporary breaks from social media, choosing to reduce their online presence despite maintaining active film schedules.
