Mumbai: Actress Malavika Mohanan expressed her frustration with IndiGo after a recent flight experience, taking to social media to highlight frequent delays and poor communication with passengers.

On X, Malavika questioned the airline’s practice of having passengers board flights only to sit for extended periods before departure. “Why are your 9/10 flights always delayed @IndiGo6E ? And why this trend of making passengers board the flight and making them sit randomly for an hour or so instead of starting boarding late if you happen to be delayed?” she wrote.

Her post quickly went viral, with many users sharing similar experiences. One commenter said, “IndiGo is famous for that. DGCA sleeping as always.”

Another wrote, “Seriously @IndiGo6E, almost every 9/10 flight is delayed? And then this new trend of making passengers board early only to sit randomly for an hour, why not just start boarding later if the flight’s delayed?”

IndiGo responded, thanking Malavika for speaking with their airport team and explaining that procedures were completed as per the scheduled departure, but a brief delay occurred due to ground infrastructure congestion. “Dear Ms Mohanan, thank you for meeting our airport team. We understand that wait times can be inconvenient. Please be assured that all necessary procedures were completed as per the scheduled departure time. However, there was a brief delay while we awaited clearance due to ground infrastructure congestion, which was beyond our control. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to serving you again soon. ~Team IndiGo,” the airline added.

This is not the first time IndiGo has faced scrutiny, having previously made headlines over hygiene issues, engine fire incidents, and a tail strike.
