Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Empuraan, Major Ravi has responded to Mallika Sukumaran's recent allegations. Mallika Sukumaran had claimed that Ravi had alienated her son and actor Prithviraj and criticised the movie, saying it was not good.

In his response, Major Ravi denied the accusations, clarifying that he never said Empuraan was a bad film. “I never said the movie was not good. I said, technically, it is a fantastic film, and I strongly stand by that,” he asserted, addressing the controversy.

He added that he chose not to voice his concerns during his initial remarks after watching the movie, as he did not wish to bring unnecessary negativity into the discussion. However, he said he felt compelled to react after people started discussing the film. “I didn’t want to say this at first because I didn’t want to bring in negativity,” Ravi explained.

Referring to his long-standing bond with superstar Mohanlal, Ravi also made it clear that he does not need to earn his respect. “I don’t have to do anything special to earn Mohanlal’s respect. We have had a bond since 1994,” he said, emphasising their deep-rooted relationship.

Ravi also took a strong stand against cyber trolls, stating that he does not let negative comments affect him. “I don’t read trolls. I give my live to the media, and I leave the space. I am not bothered who says what. I have faced bullets in my life; do you think I will be scared by your cyber attacks?” he said.

In response to the film's content, Major Ravi maintained that Empuraan is a technically well-made film but reiterated his concerns about its alleged seditious themes.
