The makers of Maharaja Hostel have released the film's official trailer, offering a lively glimpse into a horror-comedy that blends campus life, friendship and supernatural surprises. Set for a theatrical release on July 24, the Malayalam entertainer follows a group of engineering students whose carefree hostel days take an eerie turn when an unexpected presence enters their lives.

With horror-comedies continuing to attract audiences, Maharaja Hostel aims to tap into the genre's popularity by mixing humour, youthful energy and suspense. The trailer hints at a story where ordinary hostel life gradually transforms into a series of mysterious and frightening incidents, while keeping the comedy at the heart of the narrative.

The story centres on a city hostel that has earned a haunted reputation. New residents arrive expecting the usual college experience – friendship, freedom, romance and endless fun, but soon discover that their accommodation hides unsettling secrets. Alongside the hostel's quirky warden, popularly known as MGR, the students find themselves caught in bizarre situations triggered by an unexpected visitor, leading to both laugh-out-loud moments and spine-chilling encounters.

Rather than relying solely on scares, the trailer suggests that Maharaja Hostel balances comedy with supernatural elements, making it a youthful campus entertainer. The recently released songs, 'Magnetic Kannaane Cornet Pol Sweetaane' and 'Choothattamo', have also generated positive attention ahead of the film's release, adding to the pre-release buzz.

The film marks the first on-screen collaboration of Akhil NRD, Akhil Sha, Sharath, and Sandeep, who headline the cast. They are joined by Chithra Nair, Sajin Cherukayil and Ann Maria in key supporting roles.

Maharaja Hostel is backed by producers Karumuru Raghuramu, Charvaka Brahmanapally, Ramya Vemulapati, Rahul Mopidevi and Sai Prakash Bhuvanagiri under the banners Charuchitra Productions, Madhumitha Productions and Monsoon Tales.

The film is written and directed by Charu Wakan, with Ashkar handling cinematography and serving as executive producer. Music has been composed by Aswin Ram, while Nithish Mishra is the editor.

Scheduled to hit cinemas on July 24, Maharaja Hostel is positioning itself as a fun-filled horror-comedy that combines campus nostalgia, quirky characters and supernatural thrills in an entertaining theatrical package.
