Thiruvananthapuram: The makers of ‘Magic Mushrooms’, directed by Nadirshah and starring Vishnu Unnikrishnan, have released a sharp new teaser as part of the film’s pre-release promotions. The family-comedy entertainer is set to hit cinemas on January 23.

The teaser hints at a light-hearted narrative rooted in contemporary social themes. The earlier trailer has already received a positive response. Akshaya Udayakumar plays the female lead.

Produced by Ashraf Pilakkal under the Manchadi Creations banner, the film is written by debutant Aakash Dev, who has handled the story, screenplay and dialogues. Distribution is by Bhavana Release.

The soundtrack has drawn strong attention, including ‘Aarane Aarane…’, sung together for the first time by K S Chithra and Rimi Tomy, along with the duet ‘Thalodi Marayuvathevide Nee…’ by Shreya Ghoshal and Hanan Shaah, and ‘Onnaam Kunnin…’ rendered by Shankar Mahadevan.

The ensemble cast features Harisree Ashokan, Aju Varghese, Johny Antony, Jaffer Idukki, Siddharth Bharathan, Boby Kuriakose, Ashraf Pilakkal, Pramod Velliyanad, and several others, alongside child artistes.

Key technical crew includes cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, editor Johnkutty, music director Nadirshah, background score composer Manikandan Ayyappa, and choreographer Brinda. The film’s publicity and promotions are handled by Vazhoor Jose and Athira Diljith.
