A film that connected with audiences

Directed by Nandini Reddy, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ received praise for its emotional storytelling and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's performance in the lead role.

Set in the 1980s, the film follows Swarna, a woman who marries a doctor despite opposition from his family. As she gradually wins over her new household with patience and kindness, secrets from her past begin to emerge, putting the life she has carefully built at risk.

The film has also performed impressively at the box office.

So far, Maa Inti Bangaaram has collected ₹62.64 crore worldwide. Of that, ₹44.34 crore came from the Indian market, while overseas collections stand at ₹18.30 crore. The film's domestic net collection has reached ₹38.35 crore across 22,230 shows.

Its commercial success has made it one of the biggest women-led films in recent years.

Samantha's pregnancy became part of the film's journey

Beyond its box office run, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ also attracted attention because of a personal milestone in Samantha Ruth Prabhu's life.

Director Nandini Reddy recently revealed that Samantha shot one of the film's songs during the early months of her pregnancy while dealing with morning sickness. According to the director, nobody on the set knew the reason behind Samantha's discomfort at the time.

"Everyone thought she was unwell, but she later told me she was pregnant," Nandini shared.

Samantha later confirmed the pregnancy herself during a promotional event. She also announced that she would be taking a maternity break after the film's release, ending weeks of speculation that began after she was spotted with a visible baby bump.

‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ was produced under the Tra La La Pictures banner by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himanshu.

Alongside Samantha, the film also features Gulshan Devaiah, Sreemukhi and Diganth Manchale in pivotal roles.
