Kochi: Actress Lakshmi Priya has firmly denied serious allegations made by fellow actress Ansiba Hassan. Lakshmi Priya clarified that Ansiba’s claim of being detained at the police station for three hours is false and said she has digital evidence to support her statement. She was speaking to the media before appearing at the police station to give her official statement.

Lakshmi Priya stated that she was compelled to lodge a complaint with the police after Ansiba allegedly sent a WhatsApp message that, she claimed, was damaging to her family life.

“Only 1 hour and 17 minutes; evidence with the police”

“The two of us were at the station for exactly one hour, 17 minutes and 20 seconds. I am certain about this. I have already submitted digital evidence of what happened at the station that day to the police,” Lakshmi Priya said.

She further added that despite repeatedly seeking an explanation regarding the alleged inappropriate message, Ansiba did not respond satisfactorily. Lakshmi Priya said she initiated legal action only after it began to affect her family life, stressing that there were no ulterior motives or external influence behind her complaint. She also said that the actors’ association ‘AMMA’ need not intervene in what she described as a personal dispute between individuals.

Ansiba’s complaint against woman SI

In her complaint, Ansiba Hassan alleged that she was mentally harassed after being summoned to the police station, and that her message had been misinterpreted. She has also submitted a complaint to the Chief Minister against Woman Sub-Inspector Reshma of the Tripunithura police station.

Ansiba has further alleged that a larger conspiracy is behind Lakshmi Priya’s complaint against her, claiming she was illegally detained and threatened at the station.

Separately, Ansiba recently stated that actor Tini Tom and certain others within the association were responsible for her resignation from the post of Joint Secretary of the Malayalam film actors’ association ‘AMMA’.

Ansiba Hassan resigned from the post on 21 February, citing personal reasons and professional commitments.
