Did BTS just secretly leak their upcoming album title? Fans spot clue everyone missed

BTS have officially confirmed their long-awaited group comeback for 20 March 2026, and while BigHit Music has yet to reveal the album title, fans believe they may already have uncovered it. A series of cryptic hints, website “glitches,” and symbolic dates have sparked intense speculation that the group’s next full-length release may be titled ‘Hello’.
The rumours emerged shortly after the comeback announcement, which arrived not through a press statement but via handwritten New Year’s Eve letters sent directly to fans. The group’s return marks their first album as a complete unit since ‘Proof’ in June 2022, breaking a nearly four-year gap filled with individual projects and mandatory military service.
Fans believe ‘Hello’ is the hidden title
One of the strongest theories centres on the word ‘Hello’, which began circulating after ARMY noticed unusual behaviour on the official BTS website. Several users reported that switching the language to English redirected them to a blank page that displayed only the word “Hello!” This so-called error appeared repeatedly, prompting many to wonder whether it was intentional.
Around the same time, BigHit launched a stripped-down countdown website on 2 January featuring red circular motifs and the new BTS logo. Fans quickly connected the shapes to bilingual wordplay involving English and Korean. According to fan theorist @MrsTOH2O, the blended sound of “hae” and “llo” forms “Haello”, which mirrors the pronunciation of ‘Hello’. The idea spread rapidly across social media, strengthened by Jin’s past livestream habit of greeting fans with several enthusiastic “hello”s during a beach broadcast.
ARMY also pointed to the line in ‘Life Goes On’ that reads: “With the ‘annyeong’ that we start and finish the day…”, arguing that a greeting-themed album would fit BTS’ long-running emphasis on connection.
March 20 sparks symbolic interpretations
Fans have also taken the comeback date itself – 20 March – to be another clue. The day marks the start of spring in the northern hemisphere, a season typically associated with renewal and hope. Many believe it symbolises a fresh chapter for the group as they reunite after years spent apart.
Adding to the theory is the flower linked to the date: the purple tulip. In the language of flowers, purple tulips represent everlasting love – an idea ARMY frequently connects to BTS’ identity and their signature colour.
Postcards, logos and nostalgic echoes
Hints first surfaced on 31 December, when select Korean fans and Gold Membership holders received exclusive postcards revealing the comeback date and a red circular insignia. The design reminded some long-time followers of the ‘Wings’ era aesthetic. Each card also carried personal messages from the members, expressing how deeply they missed their supporters and how eager they were to stand together again.
This fan-centred rollout has earned widespread praise. Many believe BigHit Music is intentionally guiding ARMY through a breadcrumb-style promotional trail, letting fans piece together clues instead of releasing conventional teasers.
BTS confirm first full-group comeback and world tour plans
BTS have officially reopened their group chapter with a major announcement to start the new year. On 4 January, BIGHIT MUSIC revealed on WeVerse that the group will release their long-awaited fifth studio album, marking their first full-group project in almost four years. Alongside the album news, the label also confirmed a global tour.
In its statement, the company wrote, “We are excited to share some details about the release of BTS The 5th Album, and the start of their World Tour.”
The agency highlighted the importance of the project, noting, “The new album holds special significance as it marks the first album released by the group in three years and nine months, while also indicating the direction the group will take going forward. The members were deeply involved in the creation of the songs, infusing their own thoughts and colors into them while musically expressing the emotions and struggles they have experienced along their journey.”
According to the note, the record will include 14 tracks, each reflecting the group’s experiences during their time away from full-group activities. “Featuring 14 tracks, the album is packed with honest stories that BTS wants to share with ARMY, who have been waiting for their pm comeback as a whole group. Filled with the music that’s most true to BTS, the album is their heartfelt way of saying thank you to ARMY, who have been there this whole time.”
BIGHIT MUSIC also outlined their touring plans, confirming that the full schedule will be revealed shortly. “We are also pleased to announce that, following the release of their BTS The 5th Album, BTS will be going on a world tour. The tour schedule will be announced separately on January 14 at 12 am. We ask for your continued love and support for BTS as they embark on a fresh start through these new promotional activities,” the statement read.
Details regarding pre-orders were also shared directly with fans:
"Lastly, we would like to sincerely thank all the ARMY who have waited patiently for so long.
Pre-Order Opening Date: From 11 am, Friday, January 16, 2026 (KST)
Release Date: 1 pm, Friday, March 20, 2026 (KST)"
The comeback follows the members’ completion of their mandatory military service, which kept the group apart for nearly four years. Suga, who began his alternative service on 22 September 2023, completed his term in June, while Jin—who enlisted first in December 2022—was discharged in June last year. J-Hope returned from service in October 2024, and RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook were officially discharged only last week.
BTS reunited publicly at J-Hope’s recent concert in Seoul, attended by all seven members. Jin and Jungkook also joined him briefly on stage, marking another emotional milestone ahead of the group’s official comeback in March.
Whether the album is indeed titled ‘Hello’ remains unconfirmed, but fans argue the evidence is too cohesive to ignore.
