Kim Kardashian’s LA home targeted in burglary nearly 10 years after Paris robbery

Kim Kardashian’s USD 60 million mansion in Los Angeles’ Hidden Hills neighbourhood was reportedly targeted in a burglary over the weekend, with authorities arresting a 27-year-old man in connection with the incident. The reality television star and her children were not at the property when the alleged break-in occurred, as the mansion is currently undergoing renovations. 

According to reports, deputies were called to the property shortly before 4 pm Sunday after security personnel spotted a man allegedly putting items into a white Lexus and subsequently driving the vehicle around the estate. A spokesperson for the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station confirmed to USA TODAY that a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Reports about the circumstances of the incident have differed. While some accounts have described the episode as a burglary at Kardashian’s home, sources cited by TMZ said the suspect did not successfully get inside the residence. It was also reported that the vehicle belonged to a member of Kardashian’s staff.

Security guards alerted police

The incident reportedly came to light when security guards at the property noticed the man loading items into a white Lexus. They contacted emergency services, with 911 audio later obtained by The US Sun providing further details about the call.

According to TMZ, the man allegedly drove the staff member’s vehicle around the property in what was described as a joyride. Authorities subsequently took him into custody.

No weapons were reportedly found on the suspect and no injuries were reported following the incident.

There are also conflicting reports about whether the man entered Kardashian’s residence itself or remained elsewhere on the estate. Sources familiar with the situation told TMZ that he did not gain entry into the actual house and that Kardashian’s belongings were not being kept there during the renovation work.

Kardashian and children were staying elsewhere

Kardashian, 45, and her children were reportedly living at a nearby rental property while work continued on the Hidden Hills mansion. This meant that neither the reality star nor her family was at the property when the alleged incident took place.

Kardashian and Kanye West purchased the estate for around USD 20 million in 2014. The property subsequently underwent extensive renovations, and the former couple moved into the home after the work was completed in 2017.

Following their divorce, which was finalised in 2022, Kardashian continued to live at the property with her four children.

The latest incident therefore appears to have occurred while the mansion was largely being used as a renovation site rather than as the family’s current residence.

The reported incident comes nearly a decade after Kardashian was subjected to a far more serious robbery in Paris.

In October 2016, Kardashian was staying at a luxury apartment in the French capital when a group of men posing as police officers reportedly gained access to the building. The attackers restrained the concierge before making their way to Kardashian’s apartment in the early hours of the morning.

The reality star was reportedly held at gunpoint and restrained while the intruders searched for valuables. Jewellery worth an estimated USD 10 million was stolen during the incident, including a highly valuable ring and a jewellery collection.

Kardashian later spoke about the ordeal, describing it as an experience that had a profound impact on her and her family.

Kardashian returned to Paris to testify

The 2016 robbery resurfaced in 2025 when Kardashian travelled to Paris to give evidence during the trial of those accused of involvement in the heist.

She and her childhood friend and stylist Simone Harouche had been inside the apartment during the robbery. Kourtney Kardashian and Kim’s former assistant Stephanie Shepherd were also staying in Paris but were reportedly out at the time.

During her testimony, Kardashian recalled fearing for her life as the men searched for her jewellery. She later discussed the traumatic experience on her family’s Hulu series, ‘The Kardashians’.

French authorities ultimately convicted eight of the 10 defendants of offences connected to the robbery. Another defendant was convicted on illegal weapons charges, while one person was acquitted.

Aomar Ait Khedache, identified as the ringleader and then aged 69, received a three-year prison sentence. The five defendants considered direct participants in the robbery received the most severe sentences.
