Kerala police to introduce clearance for assistants in film sets; producers welcome move

Kochi: Kochi city police commissioner K Sethuraman has reportedly proposed a clearance certificate for a section of film crew workers.
He has written to the producer’s association in this regard.
There are numerous people who arrive on the sets as assistants to actors and crew members. However, no one knows anything about them. On account of this, such assistants or aides must acquire clearance certificates from the respective police stations, directed the commissioner.
Meanwhile, the producers’ association has replied favourably to the commissioner. The association will also discuss the matter at a meeting scheduled in Kochi.
The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) will be informed about the clearance, producers' association office bearers said.
There are allegations about drug use in the Malayalam film industry.
