Kochi: In a recent letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the Kerala Film Producers' Association (KFPA) has expressed that implementing equal pay for actors in the film industry is impractical. The association argued that remuneration is determined based on factors such as creativity and market value.

This statement comes in response to the Hema Committee's report, which highlighted the pay disparity between male and female actors in the industry and recommended measures to address this issue. The Producers' Association clarified its stance following a thorough review of the Hema Committee report.

The letter was sent after the Producers' Association conducted a detailed study of the report's findings and recommendations.
