‘I won’t lie, I was nervous’: Kalyani on Lokah–Hridayapoorvam box office clash; Malavika Mohanan responds

Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan shared a heartfelt note as her superhero film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra hit theatres on Thursday, becoming one of the most anticipated Onam releases this year, along with Mohanlal starrer Hridayapoorvam.

Taking to X, the actress wrote, “I won’t lie, I was so nervous to come online today… but the love I’m seeing has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone encouraging the work that went into this film. Both Hridayapoorvam and Lokah doing well just shows how much love our audiences have to give. Wishing our industry a beautiful Onam.”

Meanwhile, Hridayapoorvam star Malavika Mohanan responded warmly, saying, “So happy for you Kalyani!”

Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, Hridayapoorvam stars Mohanlal and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles, with Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita, Siddique, Nishan, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan in supporting roles. Written by Akhil Sathyan with dialogues by Sonu TP, the film brings Anthikad’s signature mix of family warmth, humour, and nostalgia — perfect for the festive season.

Dominic Arun’s Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra marks the beginning of an ambitious Malayalam superhero universe. Kalyani Priyadarshan takes on the role of Chandra, the superhero at the heart of the story. Joining her are Naslen as Sunny, Tamil actor Sandy as Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda, Chandhu as Venu, Arun Kurian as Nigel, along with Shanti Balachandran and Sharafudheen.
