Jennifer Aniston has spoken candidly about why she never chose to adopt children. The 56-year-old actress explained that adoption was never an option for her, as she desired to pass on her own DNA.

In a recent podcast episode, Aniston shared how she has found peace with her life despite not having children.

"It's so peaceful. But I will say there's a point where it's like out of my control," she said. "There's literally nothing I can do about it."

Responding to suggestions about adoption, she stated:

"When people say, 'But you can adopt,' I don't want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I wanted it."

Aniston has previously spoken about her struggles with fertility. In a 2022 interview, she revealed the emotional and physical challenges she faced while trying to conceive.

"I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road," she said. "All the years and years and years of speculation. ... It was really hard."

She also shared the lengths she went to in pursuit of motherhood, from IVF treatments to alternative methods.

"I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.' You just don't think it," Aniston reflected. "So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

Addressing rumours about her personal life, Aniston dismissed false claims about her marriage ending over the issue of children.

"I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn't have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn't give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don't have anything to hide at this point," she said.

Through her openness, Aniston has offered a heartfelt insight into her experiences with motherhood, personal choices, and the pressures faced by women in the public eye.
