Exclusive! Jaideep Ahlawat to play Pakistan Army officer in Sriram Raghavan's 'Ikkis'

Ever since director Sriram Raghavan announced his war biographical drama 'Ikkis', there has been a massive buzz around the film. Starring legendary actor Dharmendra alongside a movie-old Agastya Nanda, 'Ikkis' is a film based on the valour and sacrifice of Indian Army Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal (PVC).
Earlier in March, Amazon Prime Video had officially announced that the film will be available for streaming on its platform post its theatrical release.
Along with this, the makers and the streaming platform have now confirmed that 'Ikkis' also features critically acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat. Mathrubhumi has exclusively information about Ahlawat’s character in the film.
While it is known that Agastya will play the late Second Lieutenant's role, Dharmendra will be seen as his father and an army officer, a source close to the film told Mathrubhumi about Jaideep's character in the film.
"Jaideep has been roped in as a decorated officer of the Pakistani army. His character is very crucial to the plot," the source told Mathrubhumi.
According to earlier reports, the film went on floors in October last year. "The film went on the floors in October. The first schedule of it has been shot in Chandigarh and Lucknow. While the team shot for about a week in Chandigarh, shooting in Lucknow was done for roughly 10 to 12 days," a report in NewsBytes said, quoting a source.
Another schedule of 'Ikkis' was shot in Pune. "Some parts of the Pune schedule were shot at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. Agastya also went under training to prepare for his role as the young army officer," the source told Mathrubhumi.
About the film
'Ikkis', which is being presented by producer Dinesh Vijan, will show the brave story of Arun, who laid his life on the line of duty in the Battle of Basantar during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.
He was posthumously awarded with Param Vir Chakra (PVC), India's military decoration.
'Ikkis' will mark the second venture of Agastya, who made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's' The Archies' in December 2023.
