Bollywood actor Sanya Malhotra, who rose to prominence with Dangal, has expressed her delight at visiting Kerala for the first time. The actor is in the state to attend this year’s Filmfare Awards ceremony in Kochi.

Sanya, who has also delivered notable performances in Badhaai Ho, Photograph, Jawan, Pagglait, Kathal and so on shared her happiness on Instagram, saying she does not feel like leaving the state. She described Kerala as pretty and peaceful.

Posting photographs and videos from her hotel and rehearsals, the actor wrote: “First time in Kerala and I don’t want to go back. Sooo pretty so peaceful... ”

Her remarks are drawing attention at a time of controversy surrounding The Kerala Story 2, a sequel to the earlier film that critics have described as a propaganda movie targeting the state. The film has sparked protests in parts of Kerala ahead of the elections, with several groups alleging that it portrays the state in a negative light.

Against this backdrop, Sanya’s public appreciation of Kerala’s beauty and calm has been widely noted on social media. Her post has garnered tens of thousands of likes from fans.

The Filmfare Awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday evening at the Adlux International Convention Centre in Kochi, bringing together prominent names from South Indian cinema. Actors including Allu Arjun, Sai Pallavi and Anurag Kashyap are expected to attend. The event is hosted by Vishnu Warrier, Ranjini Haridas and RJ Mithun.
