Hero or villain? Mammootty’s Kalamkaval BTS video released ahead of film’s release

With just days left for its theatrical release, the makers of Kalamkaval have unveiled a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video featuring Mammootty and Vinayakan, further ramping up excitement among Malayalam cinema audiences eagerly awaiting the film. The crime-thriller, initially slated for release on November 27, will now hit theatres on December 5.

The BTS visuals showcase key moments from set, offering fans a glimpse of the lead actors in character — Mammootty with a composed, sharp presence and Vinayakan in a tense, intense police avatar.

Kalamkaval has been generating buzz ever since its teaser release. The teaser opens with a mysterious knock, followed by rapid-cut visuals featuring both Mammootty and Vinayakan. Vinayakan appears as a stern police officer, while Mammootty’s character remains mysterious. 

The film marks the seventh production venture of Mammootty Kampany and carries the intriguing tagline: “The venom beneath.”

Earlier, the team had shared the second-look poster of Mammootty. Posting it on social media, Mammootty Kampany wrote: "Some Faces Raise Questions... Not Answers... Presenting The Second Look Poster of #Kalamkaval Directed by Jithin K Jose."

Directed by Jithin K Jose, the film features a screenplay by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar. Faisal Ali handles cinematography, Praveen Prabhakar is in charge of editing, and Mujeeb Majeed composes the music. Stunts are choreographed by Action Santhosh.

With the promotional build-up in full swing, Kalamkaval is poised to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year.
