In exciting news for One Direction fans worldwide, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson are set to reunite for a cross-country road trip across the United States, which will be featured in a new three-part documentary on Netflix.

The series, described as a journey of reconnection, exploration and laughter, as per Variety will offer a rare glimpse into the lives of the two former bandmates since their time in One Direction. Produced by Campfire Studios and directed by Nicola Marsh, the documentary promises to delve into deeper, more personal conversations between the two, including themes of life, love, fatherhood, and loss.

One of the emotional pillars of the series will be the duo’s reflections on the loss of their former bandmate, Liam Payne, who passed away in October 2024 after a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina. The documentary is expected to touch on how Payne’s death brought the former bandmates together again, after years of limited contact.

Zayn and Louis first rose to fame in 2010 through The X Factor UK, alongside Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Niall Horan, forming what would become one of the most iconic boy bands of the decade. Zayn left the band in 2015, and the remaining members went on hiatus a year later to pursue solo careers.

"Our relationships have definitely changed since we were in a band together, but I think that's just life. Everybody grows up; two of the guys (Louis and Liam) have got kids now. But no, I don't talk to any of them, really," Zayn told Billboard in 2017.

While neither artist has publicly commented on the upcoming documentary yet, fans are already buzzing with anticipation. Zayn Malik is preparing for a Las Vegas residency in January 2026, while Louis Tomlinson is gearing up for the release of his third studio album, How Did I Get Here?, followed by a world tour in 2026.
