Filmmaker Priyadarshan bags Bharathan Award for Best Director

Thrissur: Noted filmmaker Priyadarshan has bagged the Bharathan Award (Bharat Kalyan Suvarna Mudra) for Best Indian Director. The honour will be presented by singer P Jayachandran on July 31 at a ceremony at the regional theatre of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. 

The ceremony will mark a two-day commemoration of Bharathan, the popular director, in the wake of his 25th death anniversary. 

The award was announced at a press conference attended by MP Surendran, C Venugopal, Anil Vasudev, advocate E Rajan, Anil C Menon among others.
