Malayalam cinema fans are eagerly awaiting the release of 'L2: Empuraan,' directed by Prithviraj and featuring Mohanlal in the lead role. The film’s background work is nearing completion, with music composed by Deepak Dev. Recently, Dev shared insights about the film and its music.

He noted that the songs in ‘Empuraan' will not follow the same style as those in 'Lucifer,' which was released in 2019. "The music style has evolved during this time, and we aim to create something unique for 'Empuraan,'" Deepak Dev explained during an interview on Club FM.

Deepak highlighted that the cinematic landscape has changed significantly since 'Lucifer.' He emphasised the importance of moving forward creatively, stating, "We can’t just return to what worked before; we need to explore new directions."

While audiences may expect 'Empuraan' to be a continuation of 'Lucifer,' Dev stressed that the music will not replicate that film's sound. "There will be a distinct style for 'Empuraan,' and it will be heavier than before. Prithviraj and Antony have encouraged a more innovative approach," he said.

Deepak also mentioned the editing process, expressing excitement over the rough cut he has seen. He assured fans that despite the initial edits, there is still much post-production work, including colour correction, to be done. "Even the graphics, which might seem digital, have been shot authentically," he added, highlighting the meticulous nature of the film's production.

As for the first song, Deepak confirmed it has already been completed, further heightening anticipation for the film. With its fresh musical direction and strong emotional undercurrents, 'Empuraan' promises to be a standout in Malayalam cinema.
