Popular 90s Malayalam actor Divyaa Unni, known for her roles in films like Pranayavarnangal, Kalyana Sowgandhikam, Friends, and others has recently addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding her and the late actor Kalabhavan Mani. Despite earning immense love from her fans, Divyaa has faced constant criticism from a section of social media users regarding an incident that allegedly occurred during the filming of a song scene with Mani.

The controversy began with allegations that during the shoot for a romantic song sequence in the movie Kalyana Sowgandhikam, Divyaa allegedly refused to act with Kalabhavan Mani, leading to the omission of the scene. These claims spread rapidly on social media recently, resulting in widespread criticism of Divyaa. In a recent interview on the One 2 Talks YouTube channel, Divyaa Unni opened up about the controversy. She said, "I had once said this in an interview. I know, he knows. What I say about Manichettan is not justifiable. People will keep saying what they say. Why should we feed them? If you don’t want something, starve it. Let it starve to death. Why do we raise it?"
