Diljit Dosanjh’s October 30 concert at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium has received clearance from the Delhi Police following discussions with organisers over security, crowd management and traffic arrangements. The approval came a day after permission was denied over security concerns.

As part of the proposed security arrangements, the organisers have been asked to deploy between 1,500 and 2,000 private security personnel. Officials said the initial proposal included around 400 guards, but the police emphasised the need for a larger team to manage queues, direct concert-goers to designated entry gates, operate help kiosks and ensure smooth pedestrian movement around the venue.

The organisers have also been advised to arrange additional parking spaces near the stadium for visitors arriving in private vehicles.

Diljit Dosanjh Concert: 700-Metre No-Car Zone Proposed

Delhi Police are considering restricting vehicle movement within a 500- to 700-metre stretch around JLN Stadium, turning the area into a pedestrian-only zone. Only vehicles belonging to the singer and those specifically authorised for the event would be allowed into the restricted area.

Dedicated pedestrian routes and help kiosks at key locations have also been recommended to help attendees locate their designated entry gates and avoid confusion during peak entry and exit hours.

JLN Stadium has a capacity of approximately 55,000 people. However, officials are preparing for a large turnout, including event staff and support personnel. Police have stressed the importance of adequate deployment at entry and exit points and along approach roads to prevent congestion.

Performance Ramp Extension Under Discussion

The organisers are also considering extending the performance ramp to allow Diljit Dosanjh to move further into the audience area and interact with fans during the concert.

The proposal is being discussed with the police, and the final arrangements will depend on security requirements and the necessary approvals.

Officials are also factoring in potential risks linked to reported threats from pro-Khalistani groups while planning measures to protect the singer, concert-goers and others associated with the event.

Mumbai Police Probe Separate Threat Ahead of Diljit Dosanjh Concert

The Delhi concert clearance comes amid a separate security concern involving the singer. Mumbai Police launched an investigation on Friday after Dosanjh reportedly received a threat email warning of a possible suicide attack at his November 27 concert at Mahalaxmi Racecourse.

On Thursday, a senior Delhi Police officer told The Indian Express that a letter had been sent to ticketing partner BookMyShow citing inputs about possible threats to the singer’s Delhi concert.

In May this year, shots were fired outside the Karnal residence of Dosanjh’s manager, Gurpartap Singh Kang. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility in social media posts.

The Delhi show will mark the opening leg of Dosanjh’s ongoing Aura India Tour, which is scheduled to travel to Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
