‘A’ certificate for Dhurandhar 2: Ranveer Singh sequel to be India’s 7th longest film

Mumbai: Just days ahead of its global release on March 19, 2026, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially cleared Ranveer Singh’s highly anticipated sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, with an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate.
The certification confirms that the sequel will follow in the gritty footsteps of its 2025 predecessor, maintaining a mature tone. According to the board’s report, the rating was assigned due to sequences of strong bloody violence and graphic action. Internationally, the Irish Censor Board echoed this stance, granting it an 18 rating for intense injury detail and brief mild nudity.
A Record-Breaking Runtime
Beyond its rating, the film is making headlines for its staggering length. The CBFC has certified the film with a runtime of 229 minutes (3 hours and 49 minutes). This officially places Dhurandhar: The Revenge among the seven longest Indian feature films ever made, surpassing most contemporary blockbusters.
Debunking Rating Rumours
The official 'A' rating puts an end to weeks of social media speculation. In early February, several viral posts suggested the film had been granted a U/A 16+ certificate to appeal to a wider audience. Sources close to the production have clarified that those reports were based on an edited version intended for future television broadcasts, whereas the theatrical experience remains strictly for adults.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is expected to take a massive opening at the box office, with advance bookings already trending at record levels across major metros.
