Mumbai: In response to serious allegations of emotional abuse and inappropriate conduct against cinematographer Pratik Shah, Dharma Productions has issued an official statement reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy toward harassment. As reported by TOI, the studio, which produced the Cannes-acclaimed film Homebound, clarified Shah’s limited involvement in the project and confirmed that no formal complaints were received during his tenure.

“At Dharma Productions, we have a zero tolerance policy against inappropriate behaviour and sexual harassment towards any individual working with us in any capacity, and we treat sexual harassment cases very seriously,” the company stated on Saturday.

“Mr. Pratik Shah was a freelancer on the project Homebound and was working on it for a limited period. His engagement with us has been completed. During this limited period, our internal committee for POSH didn’t receive any complaints against him from any cast or crew on our film ‘Homebound’,” the statement added.

Allegations surface online

The controversy erupted after filmmaker Abhinav Singh posted on social media, accusing Shah of being “emotionally abusive” and “highly manipulative.” Singh cited testimonies from multiple women who shared similar accounts of troubling behaviour by the cinematographer.

Shah, known for his work on Jubilee, CTRL, and Homebound, has since deleted his Instagram account, cutting off his presence on social media as the backlash continues.
