‘Case khatam ho chuka’: Nana Patekar’s son Malhar BREAKS silence on Tanushree Dutta’s claims

Nana Patekar’s son Malhar Patekar has responded to the controversy that resurfaced after the actor’s death, maintaining that the legal case linked to the allegations against his father had already been closed. His remarks come amid a series of statements by Tanushree Dutta questioning the circumstances surrounding Nana’s death and revisiting her past allegations against him.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Malhar chose not to name Tanushree but questioned why the old case continued to be discussed despite its legal conclusion.
“Without naming anyone, I want to say that the case people are bringing up unnecessarily is already over. Judiciary se clear hua hain, case khatam ho chuka; phir bhi bol rahe,” he said.
He added, “Aise logo ko mein unko kuch nahi boluga; joh sach hai wahi rahega, bhagwan unka bhala kare, this is what I have to say to them.”
What Was the Case Against Nana Patekar?
Tanushree Dutta had accused Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her during the filming of Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss. The allegations became a major talking point during India's #MeToo movement in 2018.
In June 2019, Mumbai Police filed a closure report, stating that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Nana or substantiate the allegations. The legal dispute was effectively closed in 2025.

What Did Tanushree Dutta Say After Nana Patekar’s Death?
Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 on October 8 after suffering a heart attack in Goa. Following reports of his death, Tanushree questioned several aspects of the circumstances surrounding it.
She raised questions about the reported absence of a prayer meeting and whether members of the film industry and the media had been given an opportunity to pay their last respects.

Tanushree also alleged that Nana had staged his death to avoid legal proceedings, suggesting that a DNA test could be conducted if he had changed his appearance. No evidence has been provided to substantiate these claims.
Tanushree Defends Her ‘Evil Dead’ Remark
Tanushree also faced criticism for referring to Nana as “evil dead”. In a video shared in response to the backlash, she defended her remarks, arguing that his death did not erase the allegations she had made against him.
She described the actor as a “sadistic, sick psychopath” and called his death “nothing short of a miracle”. She also expressed the view that the suffering she associated with him had come to an end.
The remarks triggered criticism, particularly given their timing following the news of Nana’s death.
