BTS have added another milestone to their record-breaking career, rewriting the history books of the global live music industry. The K-pop superstars have officially overtaken rock legends The Rolling Stones to register the highest monthly concert revenue ever achieved by a group in Billboard Boxscore history.

According to Billboard's latest Boxscore data, BTS generated an extraordinary $127.8 million (approximately Rs 1,209.6 crore) in ticket sales during May 2026, selling 641,000 tickets across just 12 stadium concerts. The achievement was powered by the North American and Mexico leg of the group's highly anticipated Arirang World Tour, marking one of the biggest months ever recorded in live entertainment.

The feat not only cements BTS' dominance as one of the world's biggest touring acts but also highlights the growing global influence of K-pop on an industry once dominated by Western rock and pop artists.

BTS breaks The Rolling Stones' long-standing Billboard record

For seven years, The Rolling Stones held Billboard's monthly Boxscore record after earning $95 million during a single tracking period in 2019.

BTS have now comfortably eclipsed that benchmark, surpassing the British rock icons by more than $32 million, roughly a 35 percent increase over the previous record.

The milestone makes Arirang the highest-grossing monthly tour by a group since Billboard introduced its monthly Boxscore rankings in 2019.

It also marks the fourth time BTS have topped Billboard's monthly Top Tours chart, placing them among an elite group of global touring heavyweights. Only Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Elton John and Trans-Siberian Orchestra have spent more months at No. 1.

Arirang World Tour powers a blockbuster comeback

The Arirang World Tour represents BTS' first major global tour following the members' hiatus and military service, with demand proving stronger than ever.

After launching on 9 April 2026, the tour has experienced rapid growth in both attendance and revenue. Billboard reported that the tour's earnings climbed by 68 percent from April to May, while attendance increased by 54 percent, reflecting the group's remarkable commercial momentum.

Much of that growth came from stadium shows across North America, where larger venues and premium ticket pricing significantly boosted overall revenue.

Las Vegas residency leads record-breaking month

The biggest contributor to BTS' historic month was their four-night residency at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The concerts attracted 246,000 fans and generated $49.5 million (approximately Rs 471.5 crore), making it the highest-grossing engagement of the month and earning the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Boxscores chart.

Compared with BTS' four-show run at the same venue in 2022, revenue increased by 38 percent, while attendance rose by 23 percent, underlining the group's expanding drawing power.

Additional sold-out performances across California, Texas, El Paso and Mexico City also ranked among Billboard's top monthly Boxscores. Extra dates were added in both Stanford and Mexico City after overwhelming demand from fans.

BTS surpasses half a billion dollars in career Boxscore earnings

Alongside breaking the monthly revenue record, BTS reached another major financial milestone.

According to Billboard, the group has now earned more than $500 million in reported career Boxscore revenue, crossing the landmark with approximately $503.1 million generated from 3.3 million tickets sold across 87 reported concerts.

The achievement further reinforces BTS' status as one of the most successful touring acts of the modern era.

Arirang closing in on BTS' biggest tour ever

Although the tour is still far from over, Arirang is already on course to become the highest-grossing tour of BTS' career.

Since its April launch, the tour has generated approximately $204 million while selling more than 1.1 million tickets. With over 50 concerts still scheduled across the globe, industry observers expect it to comfortably surpass the group's previous touring record set by the Love Yourself World Tour (2018–2019), which grossed approximately $213.9 million.

If current demand continues, Arirang could establish a new benchmark not only for BTS but for the wider live music industry.
