'I received a job offer from Swiggy…': Bhavana reveals she considered quitting films

Actress Bhavana, who has made a comeback in Tamil cinema after 12 years, recently opened up about her personal and professional life. As part of promotional activities for her upcoming film, she spoke to Tamil YouTube channels about her marriage, career dilemmas and an unexpected job offer she received from Swiggy.
Unexpected offer from Swiggy
During an interview with Behindwoods, Bhavana revealed that at one point, she seriously considered quitting her acting career. In search of alternatives, she even explored job opportunities online.
"This career is not for me, I thought, and I even searched for other jobs on Google. I actually received a job offer! An officer from Swiggy contacted me and told me to log in through a link if I was interested. But I never tried it," she said with a laugh.
Her revelation came as she reflected on the moments of doubt she experienced throughout her career.
Career break and support from husband Naveen
Bhavana, who took a break from Malayalam cinema and became active in Kannada films, has now returned to Tamil movies after a long gap. While speaking about her struggles, she credited her husband, producer Naveen, for being a pillar of support.
"There are times when I say, ‘I don’t want to act anymore. I want to go somewhere like Kailash and disappear.’ But he always tells me, ‘You should act as much as you want. You are a great artist, and I really love your work.’ He keeps encouraging me. But my mind keeps changing every day."
She also shared that their marriage, like any other, has its ups and downs.
"We are not an ideal couple. We do have arguments. In a marriage, fights are normal. During arguments, I often bring up things from the past, but Naveen is someone who understands and supports me."
How Bhavana and Naveen’s relationship began
The actress also reminisced about the early days of her relationship with Naveen. She revealed that they first met when he approached her with a film project.
"Ours was a love marriage. At that time, I was working in a Kannada film. Moreover, I was going through a failed relationship. One day, producer Naveen told me he had a new movie story to discuss. I was in Kerala for a shoot, and Naveen came to Kochi to narrate the story. After the discussion, he left."
"Later, even before the movie’s shooting began, we became friends. When I look back, I realise he too was coming out of a failed relationship. Since both of us had gone through breakups, we felt a strong connection. But we remained just friends. At that time, marriage wasn’t on my mind at all. Falling in love was fine for me, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get married."
"Some days, I would think about focusing on my career, and the next day, I would feel that a settled life was better. I was always confused. People who saw me on screen thought I was this serious person, but when they met me in real life, they would be surprised and ask, ‘Are you really this crazy?’ My friends would also say the same, but now they are used to it."
