Actor and director Basil Joseph is all set to try his hand at film production. The announcement was made by Basil himself, who introduced his production company through a note shared on social media. The title graphics of the new banner were also revealed.

“So, here we go again. Trying something I have never done before - producing films. Still figuring out the “how,” but what I do know is I want to tell stories better, bolder, and in new ways. Lets see where this new road takes us. Welcome to Basil Joseph Entertainment,” he wrote.

The title animation features a superhero-costumed child attempting to lift a leaning tower upright from its base. Once it’s been set straight, the child promptly pushes it to the ground and stands coolly with sunglasses and a stick of candy in hand—a caricature-style logo that references Minnal Murali, the superhero film directed by Basil. His trademark laughter is also heard in the background, along with an original music score.

Further details—including the first film under the new banner—have not yet been disclosed.

Basil began his career as an assistant director and has since established himself as a filmmaker and actor in Malayalam cinema. His directorial credits include Kunjiramayanam, Godha, and Minnal Murali. His most recent lead role was in Maranamass, and he also made a guest appearance in Hridayapoorvam, the Mohanlal-starrer Onam release directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
